The TFM is designed to Thermoform trays for packaging of goods. These could be medical devices or consumer goods. The thermoformed trays are intended to be loaded with product after production and sealed with a lidding foil in a separate blister sealing machine.

A thermoforming platen with the corresponding shapes of the thermoformed parts is located on the thermoforming press. The operation is semi-automatic. During each cycle, the following process is triggered when the guard is closed:

  1. The clamping frame is closed pneumatically via a two hand safety circuit.
  2. The pneumatically controlled heater passes over the thermoforming film and heats it to the optimum temperature as it waits in a stretched state just above the forming press.
  3. Once the optimum forming temperature has been reached, the forming press with the thermoforming platen moves into the now softened sheet.
  4. A vacuum pump extracts the air from between the tooling and the softened sheet, drawing the sheet into the thermoforming tool. The vacuum duration is continuously adjustable allowing optimal production of thermoformed parts of different heights.
  5. The clamping frame opens automatically, allowing the thermoformed cavities or moulded parts to be removed manually.
  6. During the next cycle of the machine, the newly thermoformed unit is automatically separated from the film.
The blister cavities can be cut as required either using the hand guillotine attached to the machine or on another unit like our cutting station.
The maximum separable material thicknesses is up to approx. 1 mm. Depending on the size of the work table and the size of your products, multiple thermoformed parts can be produced in each cycle.
