The CCM AV-LFB top load cartoner erects up to 50 flat blanks per minute. It can be supplied with automatic loading of Medical Devices, Pens, Auto-injectors or Blisters and leaflets. Alternatively products can be manually loaded.

The benefits of a wide top load carton are instantly apparent: The opening is wide and allows for easy product insertion and affords the end user the same ease of use. Multiple leaflets, Labels, Blister cards can be loaded automatically or manually. The machine can be configured to allow hybrid operations, An autoinjector being manually loaded and a leaflet be automatically placed.

In the layout shown here the following steps take place

1. Picking of blank cartons from magazine 1+2, with servo driven vacuum picker.
2. Carton Forming with hot melt closing station 1+2.
3. Inserting of glued top load cartons into oval carton transport.
4. Picking and forming of carton blank inlays from magazine 3+4.
5. Forming and inserting of inlay into top load carton.
6. Manual or Automatic loading station 1 for syringes, vials, pens etc. by operator.
7. Manual or Automatic loading station 2 for syringes, vials, pens etc. by operator
8. Automatic inserting of DFU booklet.
9. Carton closing station
10. Discharge of carton from transport system.
11. Transport to weighing cell and serialisation.

    In this particular situation, it was important for the customer that the edges of the carton were smooth. This required additional stations to fold additional flaps to achieve the desired finish.
