Filter Cartoner: Making it count
JW has supplied a filter cartoner that count filters into a box using a Cremer CS-TQF 830 counting module. The counting module ensures the right number of products is in each box. The use of a counter is a space efficient way to bring products to the machine compared with other methods such as multi-head weighers.
In this instance the customer required 2000 filters per minute to be counted into 40 cartons. ie 50 per carton. The cartons themselves were tuck-in cartons with winged flaps. The closing mechanism was specially designed to push in the wings.

Filters were loading into the bunker on the cartoner from which the elevator takes them into the hopper of the Cremer counter.

The filter cartoner described here is part of the CCM-AV family of cartoner. CCM-AV cartoners are characterised by there compact design and wide range of loading systems. Because loading is vertical they are particularly suited to products that arrive in bulk or arrive standing like bottles or counts as described above.
